Two more Rotary Reads programs remain this summer

The Rotary Club of Brockport’s Rotary Reads community service program, timed to coincide with the Thursday evening Summer Serenades concerts, has two remaining dates, August 19 and 26. Rotarians will read selected books to children at Sagawa Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m. – in time to proceed to the Welcome Center for the Serenades performance.

Rotary Reads is a summer program to encourage oral reading to children.  If successful, it may be offered in the future. Children and adults of all ages are invited to attend. For those with COVID-19 concerns, all will be encouraged to sit in personal groups with those who are unvaccinated wearing masks. Young children will not be asked to wear masks. In addition, hand sanitizer and masks will be provided.

Anyone interested in Rotary is also invited to attend a club meeting, usually at Bill Grays on Thursday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visit www.brockportrotary.org to verify dates or call president Art Appleby at 259-2834.
