H-P Senior Center plans October day trip

The Hilton-Parma Senior Center is planning a day trip to The Station Theater in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, October 6, for a “Golden Senior Moments” luncheon show with a stop at Liberty Vineyard and Winery on the way home. There will also be a stop en route to Erie so attendees can purchase coffee if they wish.

In the spirit of “The Old Folks” sketches from The Carol Burnett Show, The Station Players present “Golden Senior Moments,” a collection of short comedy sketches and song parodies that take a good-humored look at the golden years. Song parodies include: “I Remember It Well” from Gigi, “I Am Woman,” “The Way We Were,” “Yesterday/Help/Eleanor Rigby,” and more. The show offers a comical salute to the senior citizen in everyone.

Lunch will be chicken noodle soup, salad and bread, meatloaf with gravy, barbecued chicken, and macaroni and cheese with pineapple upside-down cake for dessert.

On the way home, the group will make a stop at Liberty Vineyards and Winery, where they say, “great vines make great wines,” for a tasting and shopping time.

The bus departs from the Hilton Village Community Center at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, with an approximate return time of 8 p.m. The cost is $84 for Parma residents, $99 for non-residents. The deadline to register is September 13. Register on-line at www.parmany.org/Recreation or call Hilton-Parma Recreation and Senior Center at 392-9030.
