Tracking fall foliage by trolley

Families can enjoy the colors of an upstate autumn from the windows of a vintage electric trolley car at the New York Museum of Transportation, 6393 East River Road in Rush. Rides operate Sundays only, October 3, 10, 17, and 31, and are included free with admission to the museum. The 20-minute rides depart on the half hour between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The museum is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made at www.nymtmuseum.org/summer2/. While the rides are a highlight for visitors, large model railroads, numerous full-size trolley cars, a steam locomotive, antique trucks and cars, horse-drawn vehicles, and smaller artifacts provide a rich, hands-on experience that appeals to kids and older folks alike. Admission for the entire experience is $10 adults, $9 seniors over 65, and $6 youths age 3 through 12.
