Celebrate fall with Monroe Apple Days Contest 2021

Apple picking season is at its peak in Monroe County. To celebrate, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County has organized its annual Monroe Apple Days Contest 2021, giving participants a chance to win a $25 gift card.

The event showcases outdoor attractions and recreational opportunities available to the community during the fall season each year and provides support to farmers while boosting the local economy.

To take part in the contest, visit one of the participating farms, find the Monroe Apple Days Contest flyer and take a selfie in front of it. The selfie must then be posted to https://www.facebook.com/CCEMonroe/ using #AppleDay.

Participating farms are Wickham Farms, Kirby’s Farm Market, Mayer’s Cider Press, Schutt’s Apple Mill, Herman Farm Market, Brightly’s Farm Market, and Whittier Farm. The farms offer different fun activities ranging from corn mazes, apple and pumpkin picking, fried cakes and doughnuts, to hard cider tastings. Families are invited to visit as many farms as they wish.

All of the farms will be observing COVID-19 protocols to keep their visitors and their employees safe. All visitors are encouraged to follow safety protocols at each location.

The Monroe Apple Days Contest runs through Sunday, October 31, which is the deadline to enter. The winner will be announced on Monday, November 1, and the $25 gift card may be redeemed at any of the participating farms. For details, visit http://monroe.cce.cornell.edu/events.
