The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Gallup Road over the Erie Canal in the town of Ogden, Monroe County, will be closed from Monday, October 18 through Thursday, October 21, to facilitate bridge repairs on the structure.
Alternate routes to cross over the Erie Canal can be found to the west at Sweden Walker Road (Route 260) and to the east at Washington Street.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
