Village of Brockport awarded two grants

The Village of Brockport was recently awarded two grants in New York State’s 2021 Consolidated Funding Program.

A Parks and Recreation grant for $248,915 was a reminder to keep trying. This was Brockport’s fourth and ultimately successful application for improvements to Corbett Park, the village’s largest park. Planned improvements include redoing trails to make them accessible, upgrading tennis and basketball courts, paving parking lots, dredging and restoring the park’s pond, and installing a fitness court to replace the old fitness trail of equipment.

A Canalway grant for $47,626 will provide an access path to the Empire State Trail from McCormick Place. The public, ADA-compliant path with handrails will serve the Havenwood, Cloverwood, Meadow Lane, and McCormick Place neighborhoods.
