Spencerport resident to perform tribute show

Spencerport resident, Ann Mitchell, will perform Judy! A Song Is Born on Sunday, March 20, 2 p.m., at the Cabaret at Studio B, 28b West Bank Street, Albion. Tickets are $18, and are available at cabaretatstudiob.com or by phone at 585-354-2320.

Mitchell reprises her musical celebration of Judy Garland with favorite gems from the silver screen to Ms. Garland’s concert years with pianist Andy Calabrese. Take a trip “Over the Rainbow” where you will “Get Happy” and “Smile.”  Judy! A Song Is Born debuted at the 2017 KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival and is the perfect treat to commemorate Garland’s 100th Birthday Celebration.  

Ann Mitchell specializes in the rich vocals of the timeless classics that span the Jazz era from the 1930s to 1950s with energy and heart. Her creative passion has been influenced by many memorable female vocalists such as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Judy Garland, Doris Day, and more.  

Her extensive list of appearances have included JazzBuffalo, KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival, JAZZ 90.1 LIVE On Air Concerts, Corning Wine and Jazz Festival, New York State Fair, Strong National Museum of Play’s Making American Music series, Canandaigua Waterfront Festival, and more.
