Judy Garland tribute artist to perform at OFC Creations

OFC Creations Theatre Center, 3450 Winton Place, Rochester, will host the tribute show, Judy Garland: An Intimate Evening with a legend, starring award-winning artist, Peter Mac, April 2 and 3.

On what would have been the 100th birthday of Judy Garland, Mac will guide attendees on a journey through Judy’s early days in vaudeville, her illustrious film career at the height of Hollywood’s Golden Age, and beyond. The show will feature all Garland’s signature tunes, including “The Trolley Song,” “The Man That Got Away,” and “Over the Rainbow.”

Focusing on Garland’s artistry and wit, Mac’s portrayal is based on the concept that, “Imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery, not battery!” Mac received the Golden Halo Award for “Outstanding Achievement in a Live Performance as the Great Judy Garland,” presented by the Southern California Motion Picture Council. Margaret O’Brien (Garland’s Meet Me in St. Louis co-star) said of Mac, “He really captures who Judy was and her warmth. I am always enthralled whenever I see him as Judy. As far I’m concerned, he’s the only one who can really bring her to life. So, I am the biggest fan and I know that Judy would be, too.”

Performances of Judy Garland: An Intimate Evening with a Legend are April 2 at 7:30 p.m. and April 3rd at 2 p.m. Tickets are $35 general admission, $45 for VIP featuring prime seating, and can be purchased at OFCCreations.com/tickets, or by calling the box office at 585-667-0954.
