Brockport Symphony Orchestra presents “Let Freedom Ring!”

The Brockport Symphony Orchestra will present its “Let Freedom Ring!” Concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport, 35 State Street. Directed by Jonathan Allentoff, this concert will feature narrator William A. Johnson Jr., clarinet soloist Rachel Roessel, and the Bach Children’s Chorus.

Johnson served as the 64th Mayor of the City of Rochester and Distinguished Professor of Public Policy and Urban Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology. He is the founder and CEO of Strategic Community Intervention LLC, and he serves as an adjunct faculty member in the doctoral program in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College.

Celebrating music inspired by freedom, this program will pay tribute to the 200th birthday of Underground Railroad conductor Harriet Tubman. Admission is free, and donations will be gratefully accepted.

This project is made possible with support from the Village of Brockport and funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.
