Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954 shares update on renovations

The Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954 has been busy preparing for the summer season of rentals and outdoor weather.

Over the past two weeks, kick-started by an unsolicited $500 donation from Legionnaire Mike Morris and his wife, Legion members Wayne McConnell, Tony Torcello, Ron Torcello, Leonard Smith, Craig Gertin, Geoff Larson, and Ken Juergens have worked to refinish the main hall floor. Gone are years of ground in dirt, grime, scratches, and old varnish. The maple wood was completely sanded and then vacuumed, cleaned with mineral spirits, and multiple coats of polyurethane applied, resulting in a sparkling, gym-like floor.

In addition to the floor, Pack 156, under the leadership of Dave Brower and Wendy Bailey, spent an evening picking up the lawn and wood line. After bagging the trash and bundling the wood debris, the outside of the Post is ready for cookouts and lawn games. The Legion Commander thanked the pack for their work and for taking the lead to improve our surroundings.

Thanks to these efforts, the Legion is ready for summer activities and rentals. Call 293-1364 for information.
