The Hilton-Parma Senior Center is offering a new monthly program that will feature a local presenter speaking about an interesting topic or bit of history followed by pizza. All presentations will occur on the fourth Monday of the month with most presentations in the morning followed by pizza and beverage for lunch.
This first event is planned for Monday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m., and the presentation will be about Mt. Hope Cemetery, which is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Monroe County. The presentation will cover the founding of Mount Hope in 1838, its history over the years, and some of the 350,000 people buried there. Attendees will also be updated on plans for the 2022 season and enticed to visit Mount Hope to attend a tour this summer.
Pre-registration is required, and the fee is $5 per participant. For those who like to plan, June’s program will feature Hilton Historian Dave Crumb who will talk about the Timeline of the Village of Hilton. To register or for more information, call the Hilton-Parma Senior Center at 392-9030.
