St. Paul Lutheran collects donations for Lutheran World Relief

Every year, St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Hilton hold an ingathering to collect donations for the Lutheran World Relief (LWR). This year 20 churches in Western New York participated, bringing donations to support the effort.

Handmade quilts and kits with items for babies, personal care, and school supplies were all collected at St. Paul Lutheran. Donations filled a total of 232 boxes, which included 949 quilts, 1,271 personal care kits, 109 school kits, and 70 baby kits.

A semi-truck came to pick up all the donated items and deliver them to a warehouse in Maryland. From there, they will be distributed to people in need around the world through Lutheran World Relief. The organization has been saving and improving lives in the poorest parts of the world since 1945 and says they will persist until God’s Love reaches every neighbor. LWR has many programs throughout the world.
