Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra closes out Brockport’s 2022 Summer Serenades

The 2022 Summer Serenades conclude Thursday, August 25, with the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, a fan favorite of last year’s audiences. The 6:30 p.m. performance at the Brockport Welcome Center, 11 Water Street, is accompanied by free ice cream thanks to the Brockport Wegmans. Members of Christ Community Church have provided cold bottled water each week.

The Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra regularly performs a vast array of traditional and contemporary big band literature across the region. Visit www.rocjazz.com for more information about the group.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain location is indoors at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Main and State Streets.

Local support has been exceptional this year according to Gary Skoog, with even higher attendance than in any previous season. In response, the Village’s Serenades committee has booked four groups for the Winter Serenades series, soon to be announced.  The Winter series is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons – February 5 and 19, March 5 and 19, 2023.  All four performances will be available live streamed at http://www.stlukesbrockport.org.

Further information is available on the Village web site, http://www.brockportny.org, and at 637-5300 extension 110. Donations to Village of Brockport, 127 Main Street, and designated for Summer Serenades, are always welcome.
