At-home STEM summer camp delivers hands-on fun to kids’ homes

Summer learning has no boundaries, as Camp Invention Connect® offers children the opportunity to attend weekly national editions of its STEM enrichment camp.

Making Camp Invention even more accessible for families who do not have a local program in their area or those who have local camp scheduling conflicts, a health concern, or children with needs that make an online experience more preferable than an in-person program, Camp Invention Connect makes it possible for kids across the country to connect, collaborate and create. And with camps running throughout the summer, it’s easy to fit all the fun and learning into a family’s busy summer schedule.

Led by qualified educators, children take on five full days of creative, problem-solving challenges and make new friends as they join their fellow campers for optional collaborative sessions throughout each day.

This at-home program reaches beyond what families have come to expect from “virtual learning” – balancing active, independent hands-on exploration with opportunities for socialization from home.

•An Innovator’s Toolkit packed full of fun materials is shipped directly to each participant
•Kids get ready to invent as they receive their very own Innovator Workshop to set up at home
•Daily challenges motivate kids to go outdoors, get active and stretch their imaginations
•Step-by-step activity guides and digital resources help campers succeed and have fun

The national program, featuring Camp Invention’s Elevate curriculum, is being offered this summer through July. Parents can learn more about the camp weeks that are available, and register for camp, at http://www.invent.org/camp-invention-connect.

“Unboxing was like, ‘Wow, there’s so much stuff in here!’ I was so excited to build things and could tell it was going to be so fun. I was feeling ‘hooray’ in my heart,” said a recent Camp Invention Connect camper.

A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Camp Invention challenges children in grades K-6 to tap into their natural curiosity and use their creativity to solve problems. Through hands-on activities, Camp Invention promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning; builds confidence, leadership, perseverance and resourcefulness; and encourages entrepreneurship – all in a fun and engaging environment.
