Passport to CountryMax program kicks off

The small animal rooms at CountryMax can be a fascinating place for kids. Friendly hamsters, chinchillas, lizards, snakes, turtles, ferrets and more are all on display and happy to see visitors.

“It’s like a free trip to the zoo,” says Laura M., a mom who recently brought her five-year-old son to the Pet Desk on a rainy day.

With its new passport program, CountryMax is encouraging kids and their families to visit the Pet Desk four or more times a year. When they do, kids will receive a sticker to place in their free passport, plus a prize from the store’s prize bucket. Visit once each season and collect all four stickers to earn the grand prize.

“For years, the Pet Desk has been a well-kept secret for parents of young children,” says Brad Payne, director of sales, who has three young children of his own. “It’s a quick, free visit to see exciting animals you won’t find in any traditional store. I know my kids and their friends are very excited about it!”

Sponsored by three popular brands you’ll find at CountryMax Stores – Tetra®, Marineland® and Glofish® – the program is ideal for children ages four to 16.

In addition to the kid-focused passport promotion, CountryMax also hosts children’s birthday parties featuring small animals. It’s a popular way to “meet and greet” these creatures and learn more about how to care for them as pets with the help of knowledgable employees.
