GreenSpark Solar tops the Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100 List

The rankings for the Greater Rochester Chamber 2023 Top 100 List were announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday, November 2, at the Floreano Convention Center, attended by 1,500 business and community leaders from the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region. GreenSpark Solar took the number one spot on the 37th annual list and has been providing renewable energy to the Greater Rochester region for more than 20 years. Grain-to-glass distillery Black Button Distilling and real estate development and management company Conifer Realty, LLC rounded out the top three.

The annual Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100 list celebrates the fastest-growing, privately owned companies in the Greater Rochester nine-county region. Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce accounting partner KPMG LLP determines Top 100 rankings based upon dollar and percentage revenue growth over a three-year period, which allows companies large and small to compete on a level playing field. All revenue information received is kept in the strictest of confidence and is not made public.

The 2023 Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100 companies employ nearly 13,000 people in the Greater Rochester region and employ over 7,000 more across the country. This year, these companies generated over $5.4 billion in revenue, creating an undeniable impact on our regional economy.”

To be eligible for the Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100, businesses must be independent, privately held, headquartered in the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region, and have revenue of at least $1 million in each of the three most recent fiscal years. The program recognizes Rochester’s reputation as a region of innovation spurred by a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

The manufacturing industry led the list with 26 companies placing on this year’s Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100. Twenty-four construction companies, 20 service firms, 14 technology businesses, ten wholesale and distribution companies, three financial services companies, and three retail companies were also included on the list.
