The Gillett Road bridge over CSX railroad, located just south of the bridge over the Erie Canal, will close to through traffic on Wednesday, December 6, and remain closed for an indefinite period of time. The closure is due to the deteriorated condition of the bridge. Although the bridge is owned by CSX railroad, Monroe County is closing the bridge in the interest of public safety.
Through traffic will be detoured around the closure via Big Ridge Road, Manitou Road and Spencerport Road. Neighbors living on either side of the bridge will still be able to access their properties via this detour.
