Yashira Rodriguez inducted to NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame

Greater Rochester Chamber Talent Strategy Manager Yashira Rodriguez was inducted into the NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame by Senator Jeremy Cooney. Rodriguez is an eight-year veteran of the United States Army Reserve and now manages Greater Rochester Chamber’s Veterans Connect program to connect other veterans to meaningful employment in Greater Rochester. Yashira was honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, November 28.

Prior to her role at Greater Rochester Chamber, Yashira spent nearly a decade in the healthcare industry. Her passion lies in advocating for and raising awareness for the remarkable talents that veterans possess to regional employers. Rodriguez treasures her in-person recruitment efforts at military installations, where she establishes meaningful connections with those embarking on civilian life while nurturing strong relationships with installation staff and local community partners. Her mission is centered around ensuring successful transitions into civilian careers and providing veterans with a dependable point of contact to navigate life post-service.

Yashira said, “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition and could not have accomplished this without the support and collaboration of so many of my community partners, colleagues, friends and family. Thank you to Senator Jeremy Cooney and his team for this incredible opportunity. I have no doubt that the Rochester community is positioned to continue full steam ahead in finding new ways to support military service members, Veterans, and military families.”

Rodriguez additionally serves on the Board of Directors at the Veterans Outreach Center and actively participates in the Help Base Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board’s Veterans Committees. Yashira was also recently appointed to The Mission Continues Women Veterans Leadership Program, standing alongside 74 female veterans from diverse service branches and from 21 states across the Nation.

Veterans Connect focuses on linking transitioning soldiers to employment, housing, and related services in Greater Rochester through a sustained effort that emphasizes employer engagement connectivity, relocation support, and family assistance. They serve those who served us by directly connecting them to employers and job opportunities immediately as they transition from active duty to civilian life.
