Rotary Polio Plus Society

Spencerport Rotary recently honored Joe Marasco (left) as a member of the Rotary Polio Plus Society for being a new donor. He is shown here receiving a Polio Plus Society pin from David Hannan, Rotary District Foundation Chair. Joe has been a member of Spencerport Rotary for 46 years, since 1977 – the second year the club was in existence. He served two years as the club president, two years as treasurer, has been a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow eight times, and is a Rotary Foundation Benefactor. Joe served as the chair for the Rotary Ziti dinner, which was held for 20 years at the American Legion Post. He is also a committee member for the Rotary Auto Show each spring. Although the world is 99 percent polio free, polio is still in existence. For more information on Rotary’s goal to eradicate polio from the world, visit http://www.endpolio.org.
