PHHS hosting presentation on upcoming solar eclipse

The Parma-Hiton Historical Society will host speaker, Dan Schneiderman, on Monday, January 8, at 7 p.m., in the Ingham Room at the Hilton Community Center for a presentation titled “The Solar Eclipse and its Impact on Western New York.”

Schneiderman is the Eclipse Partnership Coordinator at the RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center). During the presentation, he will discuss the science and history of solar eclipses, the impact the eclipse will have on our region, and how to prepare for this extraordinary astronomical opportunity which is coming April 8, 2024.

Rochester will be in the direct path of a total solar eclipse for the first time in almost a century. A total solar eclipse occurs when a portion of the Earth is engulfed in a shadow cast by the Moon which fully blocks sunlight.

All are welcome to attend the event on January 8 to learn more.
