Benefit concert for Kevin Grady Memorial Vocal Music Scholarship

The Sweden Senior Singers are sponsoring a benefit concert for the Kevin Grady Memorial Vocal Music Scholarship. The concert will be held Friday, February 2, 7 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 124 Main Street, Brockport, and feature Brockport’s own singer/songwriter/entertainer, Chris Wilson.

The Sweden Senior Singers are selling pre-concert discounted tickets for $20. Tickets will be $25 at the door. Proceeds will fund the new Kevin Grady Vocal Music Memorial Scholarship to be presented to a Brockport High School Choir senior at graduation this year and, hopefully, for many years to come. An anonymous donor will match donations up to $3,000.

Kevin Grady was a beloved, devoted husband and father of four. He was a lifelong resident of Clarkson. He graduated from Brockport High School in 1993 and attended Roberts Wesleyan, earning a degree in organizational management. He sang in the Brockport High School Choir from 1990 to 1993. Kevin was a lifelong music lover and hockey guy who endeared himself to his community with his easy-going nature.

Chris Wilson was good friends with Kevin and sang with him in the Brockport High School Choir and Swing Choir. They often hung out in the choir room during their free time.

Chris has donated a Luna Trinity acoustic guitar to be raffled off at the concert. Raffle Tickets are $10 each or three for $25. The winner will be chosen toward the end of the performance.

Donations to fund the scholarship will also be gratefully accepted at the concert.

People unable to attend may donate to this scholarship in two ways. Send a check made out to Brockport Central School with Kevin Grady Music Scholarship on the memo line, and mail to: Maryellen Giese, 17237 Kenmore Road, Kendall, NY 14476-9639; or Venmo maryellen-giese with Kevin Grady Music Scholarship in the memo line.
