Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association gears up for another exciting carnival season
It’s almost time! Since 1932, the Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association Carnival has entertained residents of Spencerport, Ogden, and surrounding communities with an array of rides, games, food, and family fun.
This year’s carnival will be held from June 5 to 8, with activities being held each night. The fun begins on Wednesday, June 5, with the annual Kiddie Parade. Kids and youth groups from around the community will walk down Union Street in the village of Spencerport. Younger children will also be dressed up in costumes. The Kiddie Parade starts at 7 p.m., and live music in the beer stand will be provided by No Big Deal, beginning at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, June 6, the annual Grand Firemen’s Parade starts at 7 p.m. This year’s parade hosts organizations and fire departments from the community and surrounding towns and villages. Live music in the tent by BB Dang starts at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, June 7, music featuring the legendary 7th Heaven kicks off the weekend. The band takes the stage at 9 p.m. Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 8, proves to be a busy one. Riders can ride all the attractions by purchasing a wristband for just $30. The wristband is valid from noon to 11 p.m. The evening begins with music from Begging Angels at 5 p.m. and wraps up with Rochester favorite, Tryst at 9 p.m.
Please note, as a safety measure, the enclosed beer stand area will be for patrons ages 21 and over only. Signs will be posted. Also, no strollers, chairs, or pets will be allowed in the beer stand. New this year are additional security measures where visitors to the beer stand will also receive a colored wristband each night for admittance.
