Friday, May 16, 2025, marked the opening of the 200th year of navigation on the Erie Canal.
Spencerport’s mayor, local historians, and Spencerport’s DPW crew gathered at Spencerport’s Depot & Canal Museum to celebrate the new village boat dock and commemorate the bicentennial of the historic waterway that brought prosperity to their towns and our nation.
Spencerport’s new boat dock is ready to welcome visitors throughout the summer. Stay for a Sunday Music on the Canal Concert or come back in October for “Big Ditch Day” and see why Spencerport is “Someplace Special.”
