The Village of Spencerport welcomes its neighbors from Gates on Wednesday, June 25, at noon. As part of the countywide Erie Canal 200th birthday celebrations, Bill Gillette, Town of Gates Historian, is leading a canal boat tour from Rochester to Spencerport and back again. Tickets are sold out. The Gates and Spencerport Historians have joined forces to make it an event to remember with music and fanfare. Barton’s Parkside Hots will be there too. Stop by the Depot and Canal Museum and see how the Erie Canal brought prosperity to the area. Take a selfie with Charles the Mule and be sure to sign the birthday card. Come visit with neighbors over a Barton’s hot or hamburger.
