Brightening Holiday Spirits in Byron-Bergen

BBFA delivers for local families
On December 13, volunteers from the Byron-Bergen Faculty Association (BBFA) delivered bags of presents and more than a little holiday spirit to local families. These holiday helpers purchased more than $9,000 in merchandise to assist local families in need. For many years, district teachers, staff, and administrators have worked together with local partners to make the season merrier in the Byron-Bergen area.
The goal of the annual Holiday Giving Project is to ease holiday stress for members of the Byron-Bergen community. This year, the BBFA collected donations from faculty, staff, and individual community members to purchase gifts for 133 kids from 50 local families.
“The overwhelming success of this year’s holiday project reflects the compassion that defines the Byron-Bergen community,” said Byron-Bergen Faculty Association President Ken Gropp. “On behalf of BBFA, I want to express our appreciation to every individual, community organization, or business whose generous spirit has ensured that all our students will have a brightened holiday season.”
After five days of shopping, wrapping, organizing, and labeling, BBFA members delivered bags filled with brightly wrapped and labeled presents to individual cars in the High School bus loop.
