BERGEN

•Lawrence, Glenn W., March 30, 2013, age 85, an auctioneer for over 40 years with Harris Wilcox, Inc. Husband of the late Marjorie W. Woodruff Lawrence; father of Carol (Thomas) Sprague of Georgia, Sandra (Dr. Edward) Pierce of Oklahoma, Betty (David) Dunbar of Georgia, and Rev. Dr. Kenneth (Dr. Connie) Lawrence of New Hampshire; brother of Dorothy Basom of California and Jean Hill of New York; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held April 3 at Bergen First Presbyterian Church. Contributions can be made to the church, 38 South Lake Street, Bergen 14416 in his memory.

 

BROCKPORT

•Remington, Gerald J. “Gramps,” On March 30, 2013 at age 88. Predeceased by his wife, Shirley and son-in-law John Peers. He is survived by his daughters, Shelley (John) Keuleman, Kathi Peers and Leslie (Douglas) Miller; his sons Todd Remington, Jon (Vicki) Remington and Fred Remington; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Gerald was a WWII Veteran and a Life Member of Capen Hose Company #4 of the Brockport Fire Department.

Funeral Services were held April 6 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the Brockport Fireman’s Exempts in his memory.

 

CHILI

•Colwell, Charles E. “Ed,” March 28, 2013 at age 83. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; daughters, Cindy Egan and Dr. Ellen Colwell; son, Dan (Beth); grandsons, Barry (Stephanie) Egan and Matthew Colwell; granddaughter, Rachel Colwell; great-grandson, Jax Egan and great-granddaughter, Taylor Bailey. Ed was a graduate of RIT in 1960 with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He was a Korean War Veteran serving 6 1/2 years in the Air Force.

His Memorial Service was held April 2 at the United Methodist Church of North Chili. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund c/o RIT Office of Development, P.O. CHURCHVILLE

•Erickson, Wayne F., March 25, 2013 at the age of 66. Wayne is survived by his wife Madeline; sister, Lynnea Erickson; son, Travis Miskinis (Shauna); grandsons Brennan and Laydan Miskinis; and Louise Erickson (aunt). He served as an officer in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Wayne moved to Rochester where he worked as a Chemical Engineer/Researcher in film development at the Eastman Kodak Company for nearly 30 years.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on April 27 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Walker Brothers Funeral Home, 21 South Main Street, Churchville. Donations in his memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to the Old English Sheepdog Club of American National Rescue.

 

HAMLIN

•Burnside, Teresa A. (Paul), March 27, 2013 at age 48. Predeceased by her father George Paul and her grandparents. She is survived by her daughter Amber Halbrook (Daniel Roe); mother, Shirley Paul; siblings Millie (Bob) Mitchell, Valerie Nunnery, Barbara (Ken) Anderson; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

•Lasch, Kenneth M., of Estero; age 68, formerly of Hamlin, died March 10, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary, of Estero; son, Kenneth Lasch Jr., of Hamlin; mother, Helen Lasch of Brockport; three brothers, Tim, Eric and Mike Lasch; sister, Monica Goosen; four grandchildren, Heather, Jarrett, Jacob and Owen; three great-grandchildren, Max, Luke and Kade. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Oelmann; father, Charles Lasch Jr.; two brothers, Brian and Charles Lasch and a sister Melanie Freitag.

A Service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 158 East Avenue, Hilton on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m. Donations in Kenneth’s memory can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or The Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.

 

•Murray, Jeremy L., Suddenly on March 27, 2013 at age 28. Predeceased by his grandmother Margaret Murray and his grandfather Eric Pratt. He is survived by his parents Robert and Kristen Murray; brother Nicholas (Jessica) Murray; girlfriend Rebecca Lee; his son Caiden Murray; grandmother Barbara Pratt; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service was held April 3 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment will be private. Contributions can be made to a trust fund for Caiden Murray in memory of Jeremy.

 

HILTON

•Flannery, Robert M., Age 70, beloved husband of Mary Ellen Henner Flannery of 44 years, died March 24, 2013. Besides his loving wife, he is most proud of his sons and their families; Mark (Therese) Flannery and Joshua and Julianna; Kevin (Aimee) Flannery and Olivia and Kendall; Timothy (Kerry) Flannery and Colton, Liam and Ethan. He is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn Rauber, Michael Flannery (Lynne Ford), Suzanne Flannery, Wendy (John) Streb; in-laws, Lee (Betty) Henner, Michael (Betsy) Henner and Joanne (Bob) Toates; nieces, nephews, and devoted friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Jean Flannery; brother-in-law, James Rauber; parents-in-law, Leo and Mary Teresa Henner. Bob served in the USAF, 1961-1965 at Westover Air Force Base, Massachusetts. Upon discharge, Bob worked as an Electrician for General Dynamics and at Kodak for 27 years, retiring in 1998.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence Church, North Greece Road on April 2. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Walker Fire Department, 1420 Walker Lake Ontario Road, Hilton, NY 14468 in his memory.

 

•Gartland, John E., March 24, 2013 at the age of 45. John is survived by his sons, Matthew Bacon and Blake Gartland; sister, Linda A. Gartland; brothers, Adam (Tina), Christopher and David Gartland; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Predeceased by his mother, Pauline Gartland, on March 23, 2013, and his sister Michele.

A Memorial Service for John and his mother was held April 1 at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home Inc., Rochester. Interment private.

 

•Gray, Alan “Bud,” March 27, 2013, age 86. Predeceased by his wife, Barbara “Jo” Gray. Survived by children, Barb (Gordon) Howie, Alan Gray Jr., Kate (Steve) Zapf, Liz Gray; sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Thomson; grandchildren, Gordon (Kris) Howie III, Peter (Sarah) Howie, Heather (Brian) Holzermer, Dan (Lisa) Zapf, Andy Zapf, Carley Hartman, Sarah Hartman; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Gordon, Ella Howie; special family friend, Kathy Heger.

A Celebration of Bud’s life was held April 2 at Carmestro’s Restaurant in Hilton. Donations can be made to Lifetime Care Hospice or the Hilton Volunteer Fire Department in his memory.

 

•Justice, Willet P., April 2, 2013, age 92. Survived by his wife, Beatrice Justice; children, Laura (James) Bowen, Brian (Kyle) Justice, Pattie (Robert) Peter, Lou Anne (William) Thompson, Jeannie Justice, Beatrice (Gerald) Teal, Raymond Justice, Maria Justice, Carl Decker, Joyce Lee and Dan Lindamood; 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by son, John and baby Nancy.

Funeral Services were held April 6 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton. Interment, Falls Cemetery.

 

•Megalo, August (Sr.), April 1, 2013, at age 90. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Catherine (Romano) Megalo; his children Lawrence of Colorado, August (Jo Ann), Stephen (Rita), Susan (Michael) Andrews; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Megalo was an Army Veteran of WWII where he received the Purple Heart.

•Montrallo, David, Died March 26. 2013, age 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Delores “Dee” Montrallo; his children, Victoria (Tyler) Lee, David (Debbie), Pamela, Terry (Leslie) Montrallo; seven beloved grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara Montrallo; and many relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Sam Montrallo. David retired in 1983 after 32 years at Kodak.

Funeral Services were held April 3 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton. Interment, Parma Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to Hilton Volunteer Fire Department or the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in his memory.

 

•Wahl, Cathy S., March 24, 2013, age 54. Predeceased by son, Matthew Wahl and brother, Lee Sisk. Survived by husband, William (Bill) Wahl; children, Bill and Haley Wahl; brothers, Ronald, John, David Sisk; granddaughter, McKayla Wahl; several nieces and nephews.

•Weed, Ward L., Age 75, died April 3, 2013. Kodak retiree and member of Hamlin V.F.W. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann P. Weed and sister, June Weed. Survived by his daughters, Pam (Kevin Kenny) Weed of Scotia, Linda (Norm) Wright of Brockport, Cheryl (Nathaniel) Koschara of Groveland; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Lee (Maxine) Weed, Larry (Joan) Weed, both of Kendall; several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service was held April 7 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Albion. Interment with full military honors at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623 in his memory.

•Saporito, Jeanne F., March 28, 2013 at age 79. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John; sons, Robert and Thomas; daughter-in-law, Debby; grandchildren, Aaron (Elizabeth) and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael; sister, Diane.

SPENCERPORT

•Crookes, Thomas L., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, age 84. Predeceased by his wife, Edith M. Crookes and son, Thomas A. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine (John Wadsworth) Loiacono; daughter-in-law, Lynn Crookes; grandchildren, Sarah (Harish) Nataraj, Kristen Crookes, Colleen (Travis) Beagley, Kelly (Danny) Ricker; four great-grandchildren.

Survived by his children, James (Kimberly) Flanagan, Sherry (Robert) Smedley, Gary (Kelli) Williams and Richard (Kimberly) Williams; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kurt (Lynn) Flanagan; sister, Maureen Hare; girlfriend, Terry Hinn; several nieces and nephews.

Stephen’s wishes were to have no calling hours but to celebrate his life by toasting a drink in his honor.

 

•Smith, Joseph E., Suddenly, March 16, 2013 at age 79. Survived by his wife, Lucille; son, Gregory (Wendy) Smith; sister, Helen Johnson; grandchildren, Brionna, Kelsey, Spencer; and many other sisters, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated March 20 at St. Christopher’s Church, North Chili.

 

•Zipeto, Sylvia J. “Syl” (Bauman), March 31, 2013. Predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Zipeto. Survived by her husband, Elmer “Zip” W. Zipeto; children, Tony (Nancy) Zipeto, Stephen Zipeto; grandchildren, Monique Santiago, Benjamin Zipeto, Oliver Zipeto; brothers, Harry Bauman, Sylvester (Vicky) Bauman, Jr. Gene Bauman, Jack (Wanda) Bauman, Reagan Bauman; sisters, Marella (Sam) Gingrich, Anna Shearer; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
