Louise Blowers Campbell
•Campbell, Louise Blowers, North Chili, Age 85, died September 28, 2014. On February 17, 1951 she married Everett J. Campbell, who remained her husband for 63 years. Louise earned degrees in English and library science from Roberts Wesleyan College and Florida State University. She served as Dean of Women, Reference Librarian and Archivist at Roberts Wesleyan, where she established an archives program and historical room. She also worked as a librarian at the Evangelical Biblical Seminary of Southern Africa; Kentucky’s Campbellsville College, where she oversaw the building of a new library; Indiana’s Bethel College; and California’s Point Loma Nazarene College. In addition, she served for more than two decades on the Committee on Free Methodist History and Archives, where she helped create the Free Methodist Archival Program and the Oral History Program. She is survived by her husband, Everett J. Campbell; daughter, Bonnie Heather Campbell; friend Diana Schmück numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as three sisters-in-law. Predeceased by her seven siblings.
A Celebration of Life Service was held October 11 at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, North Chili. Donations can be made in her memory to the Marston Memorial Historical Center, 770 North High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214.
