•Reed, Edward C., Barre, age 75, died October 29, 2014 following a brief illness. He was born September 24, 1939 in Batavia to Myron and Margaret (Marshall) Reed and was a life-long resident of this area. Ed was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Oakfield Rod and Gun Club, a retired NYS Corrections Officer, a member of the Albion Lodge BPO Elks#1006. Mr. Reed was predeceased by his brother Myron “Butch.” He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce; his children; Ronald (Kathleen) Reed of Virginia, Scott (Mary) Reed of Ohio, Deborah (Paul) Reed-Thurston of Kentucky, April Corey-Flesch of Albion, Russell (Colleen) Corey of Churchville; brothers, R. C. (Shirley) Reed of Florida, William Reed of Hilton, Daniel Reed of Holley; sisters, Carrie (Mickey) Torrington of Arizona, Bernie Scott of Arizona; sister-in-law, Lynn Reed-Futty of Delaware; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his English Setter “Mike.”
His Funeral Service was held November 2 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion. Interment at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to Hospice of Orleans in his memory.
