Richard W. Mitchell

•Mitchell, Richard W., Gates: Satuday, March 21, 2015 after a long illness. Survived by his wife of 20 years, Helga; children, Rick (Pat), Larry (Cathy) and Jan (Mary Ellen Vore); 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (George) Serbu; 2 brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Mitchell.

Dick was a proud Marine, Semper Fi, duty, honor, country. A proud family man, loyal dedicated 86er IBEW (Local Union 86, Electrical Workers) whom he served 1949- 1969 in the field, and as Assistant Business Agent, 1969-1992. Past president of the Batavia Building and Construction Trades Council, served on many local community committees representing Local Union 86, served as Elder for 10 years at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, longtime CYO Coach, a great historian. He will be missed greatly by all of us.

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean & Sons Funeral Home, Wednesday 4-7. Funeral Service, Thursday 10 AM at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 2415 Chili Ave. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation may remember him to the Local Union 86 Hardship Fund, 2300 East River Rd., Rochester 14623 or the Memorial Fund of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 2415 Chili Ave., Rochester 14624.
