Christopher A. Unger

•Unger, Christopher A., Spencerport: The treasure of a life is a measure of love and respect; the way you live and the gifts you give to others. Our beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend Christopher Alfred Unger lost his long fight with cancer on January 22, 2015. Chris was predeceased by his loving mother, Clare Unger. He is survived by his father, Kenneth Unger Sr. and his wife Paula; sister, Ruth Ann Unger Pestorius and husband Tom; brother, John Unger and wife Linda; brother, Jim Unger; brother, Kenneth Unger Jr. and wife Kim; sister, Mary Unger; brother, Paul Unger; Paulette Foster; Kim Lewis; Eric & Karen Stypa; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews; and his roommate and dear friend Phil Ehrmantraut and his sons Charlie and Eric. Barb and Dave Fullerton, their daughters, Kelly Popen and Ryanne Philips are close friends and considered family. Chris began his professional career in 1972 at Ogden Telephone Company and retired recently from Frontier Telephone Company. Chris was known by so many whom he touched because of his acts of kindness. Friends, neighbors, family and associates have all been recipients of his helpful deeds and caring nature. Chris unselfishly helped to financially support “up and coming” soccer athletes who had talent and spirit, but no money. He had a lifelong commitment to women’s soccer. Chris made friends all over the world through his devotion to this sport. He spread his attention and energy to very diverse groups, quietly and without fanfare. Chris was a great observer of the world around him. He would often say “pay attention” when issuing advice. It would be right to pay attention to the lifetime contributions of Chris Unger. His good deeds and caring thoughts live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life.

The Unger family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life at The Spencerport Exempts, 75 N. Union St., Spencerport on Saturday, May 30, from 12-5 PM. Family and friends please bring a story or a picture to share. Food and beverages will be served for all. Casual Attire.
