Hilton: In Raleigh, NC. Peacefully on May 24, 2017, age 94. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Albert J. Balsam. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Earl) Gursslin & John (Jeanne) Balsam; grandchildren, Steven (Dawn) & Scott (Renee) Gursslin, Justin (Leanne) & Jeffrey (Kelly) Balsam; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Noah, Seth & Jared Gursslin and Chloe Balsam; also a future great-grandson; and a sister, Marian Barlow. She is also predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Mya Joy and her siblings, Lamont Anderson, Evelyn Darrow, Doris Hagerty, Donald and John “Jack” Anderson. Virginia was a Cadet Nurse at the Park Avenue Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse with the Class of 1948.
Visitation on Saturday, June 3rd from 10AM until 11AM at Crosspoint Free Methodist Church, 1021 Hilton Parma Corners Rd. (corner Rte. 259 @ Burritt Rd.). Funeral Service 11AM. Burial will follow the service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice.
