Veronica Hall (Metro)

Spencerport – Age 89: On November 15, Vernie passed after a long, enjoyable life. Predeceased by her beloved husband Earl and adored daughter Linda. Survived by children, Stephen (Laurel), Douglas (Tenly), and Kenneth (Joan); 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Her family and friends meant the world to her. As a young woman, she was a telephone operator for Rochester Telephone Company. She then devoted many years to raising her children and being a homemaker. Vernie and Earl enjoyed restoring antique furniture and she taught herself how to cane chairs. Their finished projects could be seen throughout their home. Her flower cart was a fixture on Whittier Road for many years, her flowers bringing happiness to many people. She enjoyed hosting HUGE get-togethers with family and friends. In spite of her Alzheimer’s disease, she continued to enjoy her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always asked her children how they were doing and “any new grandkids”? Her sense of humor and spirited personality continued to amaze us all. We will miss her hugs and loving smiles that she shared with us all. We are grateful for her excellent care from the nurses and other staff at the Episcopal Church Home. Fond memories can be shared at walkerbrothersfh.com

Vernie’s life will be celebrated on December 1st at 11 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport, followed by a luncheon at the convent. Interment will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Vernie’s memory.
