Mary Lou Maynard

Mary Lou Maynard passed away peacefully on May 3, 2020.  Mary Lou lived 93 inspiring years- from trailblazing in having a career when women didn’t, skiing into old age until cartilage gave out in her knees, traveling to China, the Netherlands, and living in Panama. She lived in service to others- teaching fifth grade for many years in Hilton schools, staying active with Ogden Presbyterian Church, and leading a girl scout troop in Rochester.

Born in Camden, NY, Mary Lou spent most of her life in her beloved Spencerport. People loved to gather at her home where piano singalongs, playing school, and post-dinner card games were all the norm.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, brother George, and sister Barbara, and is survived by her children Peter, Mike (Katherine), and Julie (Len); grandkids Heather (Arnold), Jarod, Kate (Jared), Laura (Dan), Derek (Beth), Bethany, and Kym; and great-grands Tyler, Skylar, Ethan, Olivia, Sophia, Madelyn, Dylan, and Cecilia.

A memorial will be held on September 12th at Ogden Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Lou’s memory to the Red Cross.
