Richard B. Zwerger

Gates – Richard B. Zwerger died Monday, January 11, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth. Survived by his children, Diane (Michael) Moffatt, Jeanne (William) Hallman, and William (Joanne) Zwerger; his grandchildren, Michael Mendolera (Marissa List), Katherine Zwerger, Laura Zwerger, and Michael (Kara) Hallman; great grandchildren, Jack Mendolera, Noah and Kennedy Hallman; his sisters in law, Mary Estey and Margaret (Richard) Fabend; nieces and nephews; his cousin, John (Nancy) Braund; and many friends, especially his life long friend, Jerry (Lois) Butler.

Dad was a graduate of Charlotte High School, a retiree of Eastman Kodak, a 55 year resident of the town of Gates, and a long time member of the Church of the Epiphany where he sang in the choir. He loved singing and was in other community choirs including the Rochester Oratorio Society. Dad enjoyed spending winters with Betty in Myrtle Beach, being with his family and making his grandchildren laugh, playing and watching golf, and staying in touch with his family and friends.

We will dearly miss his positive spirit, his sense of humor, his many favorite phrases, and especially his love and support. The family is grateful to the staff at the Episcopal Church Home who lovingly cared for him the last two years.

A celebration of his life will be held later this year when we are able to gather safely. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Church of the Epiphany, 3285 Buffalo Rd., Rochester, 14624.
