Ronald A. Lord
Ronald A. Lord, of Lakeville, NY and Clearwater, Florida, died unexpectedly March 6, 2021 in Clearwater at age 94 (not from Covid). He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Ethyl (Goff) Lord, brother Charles Jr. and partner Evelyn Quillan. Ron is survived by friend Lynn Quillan-Robertson (Evelyn’s daughter) and her son Brian Gerlach of Spencerport; cousins June Herman of Canandaigua, Doris (Robert) Spink of Phelps; dear friend Jessie Rothenburgh of Spencerport; Ron’s former Maine Coon Cat, “Andy” who lives in Chicago now with Marley; two nephews Michael Lord of Syracuse and Kevin Lord of Virginia; and many dear friends and neighbors near and far.
Ron was an avid pilot who owned three small planes and flew to Florida and the Bahamas over 40 times, 21 flights through the Bermuda Triangle. He also owned a 1953 Original Wooden Chris Craft Boat for 65 years. He grew up in Honeoye Falls/Mendon area, and spent his summers on Conesus Lake. Ron was a retired farmer (50 years) who lived in the house he was born in, for more than 70 years. He also donated over 198 pints of blood to the American Red Cross in his lifetime. He was an usher for over 53 years at The First Presbyterian Church in Honeoye Falls. Ron was a roller coaster enthusiast who rode on over 103 roller coasters in his 94 years! He loved his desserts, with carrot cake being his favorite. Ron also was one of the oldest surviving residents on Conesus Lake, NY and swam across the lake more than 30 times.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion, 3850 Federal Road, Livonia, NY. Refreshments will be served.
