Michael “Bird” Scialdone

In Loving Memory of Michael “Bird” Scialdone
September 4, 1957 – February 27, 2022

CHURCHVILLE –
Michael Scialdone, 64, after a short battle with ALS, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, surrounded by his family.
To meet him on the other side are many loved ones who have gone before him, including his father Carmen Scialdone, special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas “Turk” and Julie Boyle.
Mike will be sorely missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Leslie; his mother Marion Scialdone; his two beautiful daughters, Michele (Jeremy) Kelly and Lindsay (Daniel) Adams; his sister Annmarie LaRosa; five wonderful grandchildren: Emma, Joshua, Julie, Patrick, and Nora; cousins, nieces, nephews, “The Gang” and many other family and friends.
Mike was born in Rochester, New York and was a 1975 graduate of Spencerport High School. He proudly dedicated his 43-year career with Upstate Thermo King.
“Bird,” as his friends fondly called him, was a true man’s man and would often say, “I’m here for a good time, not a long time”. He had a love for the outdoors and experienced many adventurous hunting expeditions. As a member of the Rochester Brooks Gun Club, Mike was enthusiastic about sporting clays and often participated in competition events, making friends everywhere he went. Leslie often accompanied Mike on business and leisure trips around North America. They were able to experience memorable vacations and check off bucket-list destinations, like the Grand Canyon and most recently Alaska. Other hobbies Mike enjoyed were bike riding, gardening, cooking, spending time in his barn puttering, and caring for his pet ducks and barn cats. Mike loved working with his hands. He could design, build, and repair with excellence everything he set out to accomplish. None of these meant as much to Mike as his love and pride for his family.
Mike was active in the Churchville United Methodist Church for 40 years where he was pleased to serve on the Board of Trustees caring for and making improvements to the church.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester. A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at a later date.
