BROCKPORT: Johnson, Jennie Hilda (Burrell), 84, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at St. John’s in Rochester, NY. Born on February 1, 1942, in Bellefonte, PA, Jennie was a woman of spirit and character who left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
A longtime resident of the area, Jennie was a dedicated employee of the Brockport School District, where she served the community first as a cafeteria monitor and later as a bus monitor. Known for her spicy personality and vibrant nature, she was deeply endeared to her friends, family, and the many colleagues she worked with over the years.
Jennie found great pleasure in her social pursuits and hobbies. She was an active member of The Red Hat Society and cherished the time spent attending Renaissance Faires with her family. A lifelong advocate for animals, Jennie was a great lover of both dogs and cats, many of whom were her constant and beloved companions throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Charles Johnson.
Jennie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Walter; her daughter, Karen (Hai) Tran; and her grandchild, Wren. Her memory will be held dear by her family and the many friends who enjoyed her company.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at: Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave, Brockport, NY.
