Hilton High School hosts internet safety presentation Feb. 13

One of the most relevant issues in teen life today is the use of social media. Teens are constantly connecting with others using popular avenues including Facebook®, Twitter®, Tumblr® and Ask.fm®. To offer parents the opportunity to learn more about social media, internet safety and ways to empower their teens to make safer choices online, Hilton High School has partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to present the NetSmartz Workshop Internet Safety Presentation for Parents on Thursday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Hilton High School, 400 East Avenue, Hilton.

The program introduces audiences to the main online risks and basic internet safety concepts. Cyberbullying, revealing too much information, sexting, and online predators are discussed. Audiences will gain tips and resources to help them establish rules and guidelines at home, to communicate with their children and to consider filtering and monitoring options. Email mdinitto@hilton.k12.ny.usor call 392-1000, ext. 2301 to register to attend.
