B-B students inducted into honor societies
Eleven students were recognized at the annual National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony at Byron-Bergen Sr. High School on April 30. This brings the total number of members to forty-eight students who have exhibited specific criteria along with a great deal of work in order to be accepted into this elite organization.
Decorations of blue and gold filled the auditorium which held proud parents, staff members, and current NHS members. The Singing Silhouettes, under the direction of Laurence Tallman, opened the ceremony and performed several selections during the evening. Superintendent Casey Kosiorek and Jr./Sr. High School Principal Aaron Johnson welcomed everyone. Current senior members Taylor Gunther, Nathan Reiner, Amanda Street, Brittany Merrell, and Noelle Ferris conducted the Candle Lighting Ceremony.
Fifteen senior members were given special recognition and guest David Keller spoke to the inductees on always striving to work hard and follow their dreams. Faculty Council representative Nick Muhlenkamp was also invited to address the students. NHS advisors Alana Parnapy and Amy Knell presented each inductee with membership certificates and pins.
The Genesee Valley Educational Partnership Career & Technical Education Center held their National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony on April 8 at Elba High School. Shawna Adams and Kimberly Lovett (Health Academy), and Brittany Merrell (Legal Academy) were inducted. Certificates and pins were given to each recipient.
