Hilton junior Brenna Zanghi was recently inducted into the Greece Youth Hall of Fame during a ceremony attended by local dignitaries and held at Greece Town Hall. Since 1991, the Hall of Fame directs special attention to those youth who have demonstrated, through their contributions to the community and outstanding achievements, their personal growth and development.

Nominated by Teacher Ann Marie McDonald, Brenna has maintained excellent grades despite a learning disability and was recently inducted into the Hilton Chapter of the National Honor Society. Her father, Michael Zanghi, is a NYS Army Aviator in the National Guard and has served two, one-year deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Understanding the numerous pressures on military children, Brenna and her grandmother made 120 comfort quilts and distributed them to children of military parents. She said that she wanted them to know that they were not alone in dealing with the fear and isolation that she worked hard to overcome when her own father was deployed.

Brenna also serves as vice president of the NY National Guard Teen Council, works stage crew for the high school musicals and has a part-time job. She volunteers for numerous organizations and has logged in over 300 hours throughout high school as a volunteer at Eastridge Animal Hospital. Brenna plans to study computer science/programming when she graduates.
