Brockport 2015-2016 proposed school budget hearing May 5
The Brockport Central School District Board of Education will present its proposed budget for the 2015-2016 school year at a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Fred W. Hill School Cafetorium.
The ballot includes two propositions:
•Proposition 1 – The $75,946,267 proposed budget projects an estimated 0.89% tax rate increase. The budget was balanced utilizing $2,975,000 of fund balance and reserves and a tax levy increase of 1.89%, which is less than Brockport’s tax levy limit (cap) of 2.48%.
•Proposition 2 – Bus Proposition of $1,200,200 includes purchasing 13 buses and trading in 10. The state aid ratio is 90%, making the net local share $9,232 per bus.
Voting on these propositions and election of one Board of Education Trustee position will be held May 19, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Technology and Training Center, Building 800, on the Brockport Central School District campus.
