Hilton CSD holds budget vote and Board of Education election
The Hilton Central School District 2016-17 School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will be held Tuesday, May 17 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Hilton High School (Parma, Clarkson and Hamlin residents) and Northwood Elementary School (Greece residents).
The $79,981,153 budget proposal for the 2016-17 school year, a 3.97 percent increase over last year’s budget, results in an estimated 0.41 percent tax rate decrease in Greece, Hamlin and Parma, and an estimated 0.39 percent decrease in Clarkson.
In addition to the budget proposition, district residents can vote on a $1,373,294 bus purchase proposition, and four open positions on the Board of Education.
The candidates are incumbents Michelle Frechette Ames, Barbara Cutrona, Mark Hilburger and Nancy Pickering; and Russell Byer, Dr. André Hudson and David R. Malsegna. The three candidates with the most votes are elected to three-year terms of office and the fourth candidate with the most will fulfill the remaining two years of retired Daniel Wellington’s term.

Hilton High School is located at 400 East Avenue, Hilton and Northwood Elementary School is located at 433 North Greece Road, Greece. Voters must be registered with the Monroe County Board of Elections or registered with the Hilton School District in order to vote. Handicapped accessible parking is available.
