March is recognized as Music in our Schools Month, and Brockport Central School District is drawing attention to the music programs it has for students in each of its schools.
Throughout the month, the district will be sharing video clips of various peeks inside the music classroom, whether that is a second-grade class at Barclay Elementary, a virtual one-on-one band lesson at the high school, or a chorus rehearsal with middle school students socially distanced in the auditorium.
Last year, Brockport Central was honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for the fifth time. This year, the department has demonstrated that honor by going above and beyond for its students, adapting lessons and rehearsals for both in-person and remote learners.
