Brockport HS choir students perform with RPO

Eight members of the Brockport High School Choir – Parker Christy (senior), Kiersten Gingrich (sophomore), Kristina Irene (junior), Mairi Linden (sophomore), Madison Kulp (junior), Tess Neilans (senior), Kaylee Stephens (senior), and Ava Ruggles (junior) – were selected to sing with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in their 30th Anniversary, Gala Holiday Pops. This year’s celebration was the best yet, with Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik, the Festival High School Chorale, and Rochester’s favorite storyteller, Jay Stetzer, narrating “The Night Before Christmas.”

The Gala Holiday Pops, which was started by Maestro Tyzik 30 years ago, has become one of Rochester’s favorite holiday traditions. The event celebrates the winter holidays and provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents. They sang alongside professionals, and in front of an audience of thousands, making this a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
