March Mayhem returns to Churchville-Chili
The Churchville-Chili LEO Club has scheduled its annual March Mayhem Basketball Game. The fundraising benefit will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m. in the Middle School Gym C (enter door 37 near the HS/MS bus loop). Admission to the game is free, however, donations are encouraged. All proceeds will be donated to the Willie Bee Foundation (make checks payable to Churchville-Chili LEO Club).
The Willie Bee Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization founded to benefit local families who have a child facing a life threatening illness. The foundation is in memory of William Beeman who was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor at 3-1/2 months. Will courageously fought for almost 20 months, including numerous surgeries, chemotheraphy and radiation treatments. Will died in 2016, just a few weeks short of his second birthday.
The Willie Bee Foundation is on a mission to help ease the burden that a life threatening diagnosis places on a family. The money raised goes to fund personalized and special supports that not every family has access to. Support funds run the entire gambit – from specialized care to travel for treatments – and would include whatever is needed for caring and compassionate care. The Foundation wants Will’s legacy to be one of generosity and goodwill, making a difference one family at a time right here in our community.
The Churchville-Chili LEO Club is comprised of students who perform a variety of community service activities. The club has been in existence for 26 years and is sponsored by the Churchville Lions Club.
The Advisor for the Senior High is Janelle Hernandez and the Advisor for the Middle School is Catherine Kwiecien.
