Dr. Lorraine Acker was awarded a 2025 Diamond Honoree Award from the American College Personnel Association. The award recognizes colleagues who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to higher education through student affairs and student development. Acker’s nominators highlighted her work as the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Interim Chief Diversity Officer at SUNY Brockport as key contributions to higher education.
Acker was also recognized for her work with the Pan African Network, where she worked on the membership and retention committee giving encouragement to those who were interviewing for their next position. She also works with the University’s Senior Student Affairs Officers and serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Women and Gender Studies.
