Hunter Smith, a former McQuaid Jesuit student and Chili resident, was selected by the Boston Cannons with the #10 overall pick in the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) Draft on April 14.
Hunter is an All-American defenseman at the University of Richmond and has been a key contributor to the Spiders’ nationally ranked program (#4). Known for his physical play, field awareness, and leadership on defense, Smith has earned recognition as one of the top defensive players in collegiate lacrosse.
During his time at McQuaid Jesuit, Smith established himself as a dominant force on and off the field as team captain and Academic All-American, helping set the foundation for his continued success at both the collegiate and professional levels.
In Smith, the Boston Cannons add a highly skilled, disciplined defender as they look to strengthen their roster for the upcoming PLL season.
