White surpasses 1,000 career assists
Senior setter Rebekah White set for senior captain Shea Riley, whose soft-kill put Spencerport up by ten in their match-clinching fourth game and marked her 1,000th career assist extending her team-record in volleyball. The Rangers overcame a first game 20-25 loss to win the three straight 25-17, 25-17, 25-12.
Brockport’s Anna Fisher and Kayce Sullivan had the only kills over the second half of the first game as the Blue Devils took advantage of Ranger miscues to take game one.
With game two tied 11-11, Spencerport found their offense and outscored Brockport 14-6 down the stretch with Christa White earning four kills and Carrol Jada two aces, one kill and one block.
Senior captain Lauren Cuzzupoli had a pair of aces and a kill to help the Rangers build an 18-9 lead in game three while Amanda Williams had a mid-game kill and ace, freshman Jenna Williams added an ace and Christa White had three kills, one block and an ace in the fourth and deciding game.
Christa White finished with 30 assists in the contest – the final one her 1,000th. Sister Rebekah had a game-high 16 kills with four blocks, Jada seven kills, five blocks and five aces while Cuzzupoli registered four aces for the 2-1 Rangers.
Sullivan led Brockport with four kills; Lidia DeHaven had four blocks and Fisher three aces.
