Saints swimmers win first in many seasons

Kyle Podlaski, Brandon Crist, Christian Montanez and Kyle Wooding each had two individual wins to lead Churchville-Chili’s boys swimming team to a 109-70 win over Eastridge – their first dual meet win in at least four seasons.

Podlaski finished first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.76 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.69. Crist won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:20.45 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:28.41 – a full 36 seconds ahead of second place.

Montanez won the speed events taking the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle in :24.14 and :55.34 respectively while Wooding took top honors in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.99 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:08.52.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Crist, Podlaski, Alan Mosbruger and Wooding opened the meet with a win in 1:54.70. Wooding, Joseph Hunt, Mosbruger and Montanez won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.21 and the unit of Montanez, Hunt, Crist and Podlaski ended the meet with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:04.99.
