Bright Raven Gymnasts win in Erie

Bright Raven Gymnastics girls and boys teams traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania to compete in the 2014 Stars & Stripes Invitational held January 11-12 where three of their teams captured first place and several individuals took all around honors.

The Level 3 girls team captured first place (185.700) with Bright Raven gymnasts taking the top three all around places in the 11-year-old division. Addison Glozer of Spencerport was first all around (37.00). Erica Ellis of Gates took first place (36.30) and Christina Kurdt of Chili took third (35.725) in the 12 and over age division. In the 10-year-old age group, McKenna Kiesel of Chili was first (37.85) and Kaitlyn Straub of Ogden placed third (35.475). Katrina Daly of Spencerport was first (35.925) in the 9-year-old division. Grace Gocher of Churchville was second (35.275) in the 8-year-old division.

The Level 4 girls team also took first place (181.575) with Bria Danesi of Greece finishing first (35.75) and Liliana Sack of Spencerport taking second (35.15) in the 9-year-old division. 11-year-old Gracie Vieira of Churchville earned second all around (34.925) and Madison Maas of Churchville was third all around (33.00). In the 13 and over age division,  Bailee Schirano of Spencerport placed second (36.20).

The Bright Raven Level 5 girls finished in second place (177.925) just behind Gym Dandy’s of Washington, Pennsylvania (180.50). Individual first place all around honors went to Emily Field of Greece (37.50) in the 12 year old division and Megan Zaharkin of Spencerport in the 13 and over age division (35.80). Sydney Sack of Spencerport was third (35.45) in the 10-year-old division and Emma Taylor of Spencerport was third (34.575) in the 9-year-old division.

The Bright Raven Level 7 girls took second place (110.10) to Northstars Gymnastics of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (110.90). The top two all around spots were taken by Bright Raven gymnasts in the 15 and over age division with Julianna Gatto of Gates taking first (36.50) and Morgan Vanderhoof of Chili finishing second (35.20). Gabrielle Costner of Gates was first in the 14-year-old division (35.825). In the 13-year-old competition, Alexis LoBrutto of Spencerport was first (35.175) and Keilei Latragna of Hilton was second (34.95). Indya Richards of Gates earned the highest score in the 12-year-old division (35.975) and Jada Moore of Spencerport placed second in the 11-year-old division (35.90).

Ariana Johnston of Clarkson took second all around in the Level 6 competition for ages 14 and over (35.025).  Taylor Pohleven of Spencerport placed third in the Level 8 competition for 14-year-olds (33.425) and Megan Stevens of Brockport competed as a Level 9 placing third (32.75) in the 17 and over age division.

The Bright Raven Boys also made a fine showing with the Level 6 team earning first place (179.50). In the 12 and over age division, Brian Cannon of Chili took first place (59.20). In the 9-10 age group, Jake Scherbyn of Gates was first (60.70). In the Level 4 competition for ages 10 and older, Bright Raven teammates Dylan DelConte of Chili and Christopher Shabazz of Albion tied for first all around both scoring 60.10.
